If the betting market is any indication, the Edmonton Oilers are set to come back stronger in 2024-25 following a strong offseason of signings and trades that led to the arrivals of Jeff Skinner and Viktor Arvidsson.

Edmonton has the best odds (-275) of reaching the 100-point mark this season and that suggests that oddsmakers expect the Oilers to improve on their 104-point finish from last season.
As a result, the Oilers are a favourite to win the Presidents’ Trophy and the Pacific Division. Currently, the Oilers are listed as a +125 favourite to win the Pacific Division and have 6/1 odds of finishing with the most points in the regular season.
This also means that the Oilers are virtually a lock to make the playoffs in 2025 (-1000). More importantly, they are a favourite (4/1) to win the Clarence S. Campbell Bowl and represent the Western Conference in the Stanley Cup Final for the second year in a row.
Only three teams have followed up a Cup Final loss with a championship in the NHL’s expansion era (since the 1967-68 season). However, the odds at Sports Interaction suggest that the Oilers have the best chance of hoisting Lord Stanley’s Cup in 2025.
Odds to Win the 2025 Stanley Cup via bet365:
  • Edmonton Oilers +850
  • Florida Panthers +900
  • Colorado Avalanche +1100
  • Dallas Stars +1100
  • New Jersey Devils +1100
  • Carolina Hurricanes +1400
  • New York Rangers +1400
  • Toronto Maple Leafs +1500
  • Nashville Predators +1600
  • Vegas Golden Knights +1600
  • Boston Bruins +2000
As for individual milestones, regular season point totals are available at Sports Interaction for players such as Connor McDavid (132.5), Zach Hyman (74.5), and Evan Bouchard (79.5).
McDavid has the best Hart Trophy odds (+150) heading into 2024-25, and rightfully so. He has been named the most valuable player three times in the past eight seasons and has become a perennial favourite to win the award.
Additionally, McDavid is listed at +1150 to score the most goals at NorthStar Bets, but Leon Draisaitl (8/1) has slightly better odds of winning the Rocket Richard Trophy. NorthStar Bets also has Hyman is listed at 23/1 to finish with the most goals in 2024-25 after finishing third in the NHL with 54 goals in 2023-24.
Elsewhere in the awards market, Bouchard has the fourth-best odds (8/1) of winning the Norris Trophy as the league’s best defensemen at Sports Interaction, but his odds are +1000 at NorthStar Bets. Mattias Ekholm and Darnell Nurse are both listed at 400/1 at Sports Interaction.
Meanwhile, only four head coaches have better odds of winning the Jack Adams Award than Kris Knoblauch, who is currently sitting at 15/1, but bettors will have to scroll down to find goaltender Stuart Skinner’s Vezina Trophy odds, which are listed at 50/1.
