<p>To say things got uncomfortable for <a href="https://oilersnation.com/2025/05/22/should-the-oilers-be-worried-about-mitch-marner-signing-in-the-pacific-division/">Mitch Marner</a> and his family this spring might be underselling it.</p>

<p>The ex-Toronto Maple Leafs, now <a href="https://oilersnation.com/2025/06/30/mhl-news-florida-panthers-re-sign-ekblad-marchand-vegas-golden-knights-acquire-marner/">Vegas Golden Knights</a> forward revealed in an interview with <em>TSN&#8217;s </em>Mark Masters this week that after the Leafs fell to the Florida Panthers in the second round of last seasons playoffs, he had to hire a full-time security team.</p>
<p>It all started with a call from his father-in-law minutes after getting home that night.</p>
<p>“[He] goes, ‘I just want to let you know,” <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/news/mitch-marner-full-time-security-toronto-home-after-game-7-loss-panthers-maple-leafs">Marner said</a>. “‘We’ve got people sending us screenshots of a guy posting your address online, saying that if people want to come pay us a visit and say, you know, their goodbyes, in a quotation way, here’s the address.’ And it was a little tough, obviously.”</p>
<p>The security team remained for two weeks after the final game, held on May 18th of this year.</p>
<p>“Just to make sure no one’s coming to the house,” he said. “Also, the safety of trying to walk your dog or child, so that was a little unfortunate. Yeah, we all deal with this stuff. Sometimes it happens.”</p>

Sharks Sport and Entertainment and the City of San Jose announced earlier this week they reached an agreement to extend the teams lease of the arena through the 2050-51 season.</li>
