<p>Owner of the Carolina Hurricanes since 2017, Dundon has <a href="https://www.dailyfaceoff.com/news/carolina-hurricanes-owner-tom-dundon-purchase-nba-portland-trail-blazers-nhl">reached an agreement</a> to purchase the NBA&#8217;s Portland Trail Blazers, according to <em>ESPN&#8217;s</em> Shams Charania. The Trail Blazers have been held by the estate of he late Paul G. Allen, the team&#8217;s previous owner, who died in 2018.</p>
<blockquote><p>“We can confirm Tom Dundon is in the process of buying the Portland Trailblazers and is excited about the opportunity,” the Hurricanes said in a statement. “This will not impact the Carolina Hurricanes, and Tom still wants to bring Major League Baseball to North Carolina.”</p></blockquote>

<p>Dundon joins a growing list of executives who have ownership with multiple professional sports teams, that include Terry Pegula (NHL Buffalo Sabres and NFL Buffalo Bills), Stan Kroenke (NHL Colorado Avalanche, NFL Los Angeles Rams, NBA Denver Nuggets), James Dolan (NHL New York Rangers, NBA New York Knicks), Josh Harris (NHL New Jersey Devils, NBA Philadelphia 76ers), Ryan Smith (NHL Utah Mammoth, NBA Utah Jazz), as well as other groups like the Illitch family (NHL Detroit Red Wings, MLB Detroit Tigers), the Fenway Sports Group (NHL Pittsburgh Penguins, MLB Boston Red Sox), as well as the Rogers family (NHL Toronto Maple Leafs, MLB Toronto Blue Jays, NBA Toronto Raptors).</p>
<p>Dundon&#8217;s Hurricanes were most recently valued by CNBC at $1.3-billion.</p>
