There isn&#8217;t much happening in Edmonton Oilers land these days, which meant a very quick recap of the news and stories that happened over the last two weeks. While we still wait for Connor McDavid&#8217;s contract extension, more insiders are starting to chime in with what they think this new deal is going to look like, including John Shannon&#8217;s speculation that the <a href="https://publish.oilersnation.com/2025/08/16/connor-mcdavid-extension-edmonton-oilers-lower-than-expected/">AAV will be lower than many expect</a>. I also touched on a recent interview Stuart Skinner gave at NHL.com, where the Oilers&#8217; goalie spoke about being confident that the group will be able to respond after a second consecutive Stanley Cup Final loss.
Finally, I wrapped up this week&#8217;s episode of BLTN with a guest Righteous Sack Beating before wrapping up the podcast with another round of voicemails.
