It&#8217;s Wednesday in the middle of the NHL dead zone, which means a fresh episode of Better Lait Than Never is ready to recap what was a slow news week in Edmonton. On today&#8217;s podcast, I discussed the Oilers&#8217; off-season dead zone, Ozzy Osbourne&#8217;s passing away, reality TV, and whatever else has happened over the last seven days.
There&#8217;s not a whole lot going on in <a href="https://oilersnation.com/combinations">Edmonton Oilers</a> land these days, which meant for a very random episode of BLTN. While the team hasn&#8217;t done much over the last week, we did get a few interviews from <a href="https://publish.oilersnation.com/2025/07/23/edmonton-oilershead-coach-kris-knoblauch-interview-new-staff-adjustments/">Kris Knoblauch</a> and Stan Bowman that provided some details on where the Oilers are at heading into next season. Either way, we&#8217;re still weeks away from anything exciting happening barring some kind of trade or Connor McDavid extension, so the&#8217;s little doubt that the Oilers talk was definitely lighter this week. Did that mean I didn&#8217;t try to stretch out the news as long as possible anyway? Of course not.
Finally, I wrapped up this week&#8217;s episode of BLTN with a Righteous Sack Beating about Uber annoyances before wrapping up the podcast with another round of voicemails.
